First post for a number of years - Hello all.

    Good morning all,

Not used this site for a number of years so hello!

Interested to see what everyones thoughts are about the current regime, management and players that have been linked?

I have seen that Matt Clarke has been linked in the last few days - a good signing I think if it comes off!

Welcome back. Matt Clarke is a 100%er but not sure if he is good enough for us as he has been with a struggling Derby side for the last two seasons. Not really an improvement in my opinion.

Hi mate, thank you. I had this impression of hi being an old fashioned centre back - maybe what we need? I think most of the signings we make under this managers will be 100%ers. Bartley replacement?

HI Matt, over the years our best signings have been the ones like Gareth McCauley ,Matt Clarke could be one of those.
The big name signings have never worked out for us.

Can't pretend I know much about him. My wife's mate who's a Derby supporter texted earlier to say he's a no nonsense, solid defender who always gives 100% during games. On the other hand I've read he's pretty slow both on the turn and off the mark. The £5,000,000 we're apparently willing to pay seems a tad excessive for a player registered to Brighton who's yet to make a first team appearance for them. If it's that high a fee I'd imagine it includes a number of conditional add ons.

I have to agree - the excitement of Chadli and Grzegorz Krychowiak (yes I googled for the spelling) unfortunately meant more disappointment when they flopped.

If only we could go back to the days of Koren, Mulumbu, Olsson, Mcauley etc.

I would hope so - I don't mind a slow defender as long as they can actually defend.. Chiellini isn't quick but would want him!
