    O/T Laurel Hubbard

I don't even know if this should be in this section of the forum. Is it sport related or political. Anyone got a opinion without it turning into a slanging match between left and right

She has an advantage over competitors who were born without testicles (I hope that description is sufficiently technical to avoid me catching any tripwires in the language use minefields through which we all walk).

I suppose that it could be said that all successful athletes are likely to have been born with some inherent advantage. For example, even with the most intensive training, very few people would be able to run the 100m as Usain Bolr.

It's unfortunate. I think Hubbard should have the right to live her life in the way that's right for her, but when that results in significant unfairnes to others and, frankly, undermines the credibility of a sporting competion then it feels to me as though a line has been crossed.

Maybe Ms Hubbard has to recognise that she was born with an inherent disadvantage (for her)?

I think it’s a total kick in the face to Caster Semenya who cannot compete despite being born a woman and never sought to change her gender.

As far as the weight lifter goes, there's also a transgender cricketer who plays for Kent ladies that has caused a stir, as she appears to have an unfair advantage over some other players.

Everyone has the right to live their lives has they see fit . But cutting yr cock off and growing a pair of tits and having hormone treatment doesn’t make them a woman. Should not be allowed to compete.

Think the difference there is that is someone who wins.and that’s when it becomes the issue..

True so where’s the line drawn?
Do they do test of something to see if you might gain an advantage? I’ve no idea what goes on tbh

I’m sure we’ve all seen that some females can take males on
