Looks like Marty Phillips is going to be a key player under Ismael and potentially our number 9. Bags of skill, strength and speed, just needs to put it out there week after week.

Didn’t think I would be saying this but it looks like Phillips could be key to how well we did this season. I know plenty who will say ‘Gawd help us’ but let’s hope Ismael can unlock the key to Phillips becoming, week one week out, a top forward for us.

I've always fancied Phillips as a striker, he has a lot of the attributes the only thing in question is the most important attribute. Mentality. If he can get Phillips just believing he is a striker, and getting big on confidence he could be lethal for us this season. Its a hard job, you have to almost be arrogant with a swagger and ALWAYS believe you will score given half a chance.

Whatever you think of Phillips’ abilities, he is certainly showing better commitment to the club than the greedy Pereira.

Happy with that, only criticism of him as a player is that his head can drop and his work rate suffers, under Val this won’t happen I think he could be our player of the season?

I fancy Snodgrass and dare I say it Livermore to be key players too. I think Val's style will suit them.

I agree. Snoddy has gone under the radar a bit but he's a real handful when fit. Would easily make the starting 11. Livermore can be rock solid if treated right. Val could well be the man.
