    Johnstone

Ismael has confirmed that Sam will be between the sticks tomorrow. He has also said that they are negotiating a new contract with him. Not sure what to make of this.

I think the problem has been that the only clubs reported to be after Johnstone are West Ham and Arsenal. West Ham have signed Areola on loan and Arsenal have been chasing Ramsdale for sometime now.

I think unless Arsenal can’t agree a fee with Sheff U and then turn their sights back to Johnstone then he isn’t going anywhere because no one else is interested in buying him at the type of price we are looking at.

I’m happy at the news, Johnstone is a step up from Button, is a good pro and will be hungry to do well and cement his place in the England squad.

Better than Button but if it means we have no cash for a striker I would rather keep button and get a striker.

He's a decent goalie. A few flaws but still young for a goalie at 28. He's certainly as good as we can get and probably the best in the division.

Moore made a mug of him trying to force him to play a ball playing goalkeeper role, which very few in the country can do well.

I don't think we have been worried enough about life without him. A good goalie can be the difference between promotion and no promotion. Button is renowned as an average goalkeeper and our young lads are a lottery at this level.

Would second that Boingy! We need a striker desperately!! Questions need to be asked why no Premier Club wants an England squad keeper? Have they been watching DVD’s with him superglued to the line😂

Hopefully the Pereira money will buy a new striker unless we are in for Kane ..... dare I say parachute money as well .... unless the Chairman has pocketed that ...
