The first goal, Brindley needs to be closer to the attacker and stop the cross - too easy.

Second goal, attacker lost his marker(Francis?) too easy. Also, set up at free kick was strange. Why leave the space at the near post. Was this due to Rawlinson being set off, a bit of confusion re who was doing what?

The positives, errors for the goals easily rectified and, I thought, we played well 2nd half. Deserved the draw. Some decent individual performances.

Suspect the second goal was just not massively organised after the red (it just wasn't a red, had Dallas got the ball, it would have been towards the corner flag and not the goal!) First goal I think would be sorted with 4 at the back which is something I think we will revert to

3 or 4 at the back, it’s about closing the ball down and preventing the cross.

Slightly different with "three" centre backs. You actually only have one centre back with the outside two being a hybrid fullback/centre back. It's not ideal if you don't have players experienced in playing the role and you end up with goals like we saw there

My point is… 3 at the back, 4 at the back, CB, RB or LB… stop the cross. It’s a basic?

The other basic as a defender is to make sure you get to the ball first. It’s also a basic for a striker, and their players did it better than ours.

First chance I’ve had to see the red card, and it was ridiculous. It would have been highly contentious in a league game, but to give it in a meaningless pre-season friendly simply beggared belief. Apart from that, a good comeback with 10 men.
