AFC Wimbledon are trialling the use of a substitutions coach this season.

Wimbledon invited Sammy Lander, after he approached the club, following research
he has done, on the effectiveness of substitutions in Division 1 & 2 last season.
He has been on the bench for games against, Charlton, Doncaster & Bolton &
part time work on the training ground.
The last 3 years Lander has been a opposition analyst & assistant first team coach
for national league side Weymouth.
At Weymouth, he had started to look at the use & impact of their subs, as well as
informing the bench of the opposition subs, from a position up in the stands.
Lander researched the way that clubs had utilised substitutions, in division 1 & 2
& how effective they had been, having a points system.
