    Hennessy- shrewd signing ?

34 years old, but comes with a wealth of experience at club and international level( and he’s Welsh ,too !!) Certainly did the business tonight,in more ways than one. Maybe our regular keeper will be looking over his shoulder in the coming games.

Yes. Very shrewd. Great goalkeeper. 34 is not old at all for a number 1.

By all accounts he kept us in the game for ninety minutes and then pulled us through the penalty shootout.

Who else can we pick up on a "free"?

Bailey Peacock-Farrell certainly needs a good season out on loan or we could be looking to off load him,Hennessy has 2 or 3 seasons left in him.We also have a string of goalkeepers behind Norris, hopefully somebody comes through.

He made three saves in the first 20 minutes of the second half which was about the only time that we were troubled. The team worked hard from front to back but our final ball was poor last night, often being hit just too hard. Toon were restricted to long shots, quite a number from Hendrick that were almost all off target or were blocked by our lads.
It is lovely walking around the area today and hearing the moans and groans because the Toon couldn't beat Burnley who haven't won this season! I just say that it is Toon that haven't won this season yet because they couldn't beat our reserves last night.
