    Sam Johnstone

Absolutely amazed he has been called up for the England games again.

Thought he would be replaced by Ramsdale. Although the Arsenal keeper has been called up they have dropped Hope of Burnley instead of SJ.

Still think his kicking is awful and although he is a decent shot stopper always think he is an accident waiting to happen when he is having to use his feet.

Never mind replacing him with Ramsdale, they could use a turnip on a stick!

I’m clearly the odd one out on this forum but I think he has adapted to the sweeper keeper system very well and is a better keeper all round than Button who is very average. Being asked to play this way will result in the odd mistake being made but overall I think it has worked well.

Personally, I thought that he had a poor game on Tuesday night. His distribution was back to his normal ****e and why he stands quivering on his line when the ball comes into the six yard box is beyond me. This puts enormous strain on his defenders to get their heads to the ball before the onrushing forwards. His biggest asset though is that he is a top class shot stopper but goalkeeping is a more of an all round game than that.
