    Another VAR failing.

Can anyone explain why James Milner didn't get a second yellow, apart from the obvious conclusion that here was yet another incompetent referee bottling a crucial decision. And of course, as it was only a yellow card incident, VAR could not become involved. Another refereeing farce.

Agree Sinkov. If that had been Barnes upending a Bindippers player at Anfield then the refs yellow card would have been shown in an instant.

I agree. I am at a loss now to understand how VAR works now. I thought that the brief was “clear and obvious errors”. The Sky cameras recorded it. The pundits/ commentators all saw it. Probably everyone at Anfield saw it - yet nothing happens. Ludicrous state of affairs.

    .

notice Liverpool FC Highlights shows neither "foul"....and thats the first vid (ytube) that comes up in a Google search....not Sky sports - Interesting.

City gave away the 2 goals imo, bad defensive errors, Dias? left Mane to it and Salah was surrounded, did nothing special and had City on the floor....seems if the Refs aren't a joke, the players will make up for it.....makes the whole games a joke, but what do those who are raking in the big dosh care !...as long as the get the right result.

Alto --remember that there is a lot of football played away from the top level and the players may not be as technically gifted as those squeezing as much bread out of the game as they can, however, there are still quite a lot of games worth watching in the pyramid system.
I agree totally about the farce which the top level is becoming and I fear that it will become worse as they meddle with the Laws of the Game ad nauseam. After 58 years at senior level as a player, official, administrator etc. I have to admit that I find it very difficult to ascertain what is and what is not a foul any more ---Saturday at the Turf was a prime example when we were penalised for almost everything and Norwich were adjudged to have committed 3 fouls!
