I read the Mirror are saying Bruce will be fired this week and Jones to step in as interim manager. Has Jones got time to show what he's got and steer the Toon away from the bottom three ?

It would be very fair of the new owners to give him a chance in the interim period until the inevitable big name is produced.

It would give the team a bit of stability and assuming Jones even had moderate success it would give them time to make the best decision instead of having to rush to appoint.

After all it appears that Jones has contributed more to the moderate success we've had last season than Bruce.

I think Jones should go with him, he's over rated and a part of the problem, Jones could take us down.

It would be nice Bruce go with some sort of dignity, I never got the level of hatred towards him. He wasn't a great manager he should have been sacked a few times but the level of hate is disproportionate and personal which never sat right with me.

I thought Bruce deserved more credit towards the end of last season when we won 5 or 6 games or something and everyone was saying it was due to Graeme Jones...i thought that was a bit harsh. But he did himself no favours by having a dig at the fans and always blaming others for crap performances. I never wanted him near the club in the first place but when we lost to Sheffield United, playing 5 at the back against a team who hadn't won a league game in 20 or something....it just made me angry and i completely lost patience with him

Bruce brought a lot of the vitriol upon himself, unfortunately. Having a go at the fans, belittling the club at every opportunity to try to lower our expectations to match his ability level and the cowardly way he set us up so many times; combined with the huge well of frustration we'd not onlly been drinking from but had been thrown into and it was always likely to end in tears.

On a related note, I don't have faith in Jones to keep us up. Given his brief tenure at Lincoln he may be another of those coaches who makes a great number 2 but can't cut it as the top man. Not saying he won't at some point in the future but, after the Spurs game-if he's given that to allow the new owners (new owners, how good does that sound, man! ) time to get someone top notch in-then I'd rather he either left with his head help high or joined the new fella's coaching team.

I think we need a full clean sweep.

Have him as interim for that game if needed but not till end of the season, pay the money and get the new man in ready for Jan.
