    Jonathan Woodgate

Just read some comments from him on the Red Button saying we're in "dreamland" if we think we can attract the worlds best players, and that "players don't want to come to Newcastle"

I don't think he realizes that we're probably going to be competitive on the wage front in the future.....did Yaya Toure, David Silva and Aguero join City because they loved Manchester? No...they were offered good money to go and play there and shared the clubs ambition..

Also, Silva and Aguero weren't superstars when they arrived but became that during their time there. That's what i hope happens at NUFC...that we'll find more Saint-Maximin's...players of his quality and mould them into an exciting attacking team...or at the very least a team that will give us more entertainment on match days

    Here's his comments:

"All the top players have got money, they want to win trophies, they want to play in European finals, they want to get to World Cups, they don't want to come to Newcastle. No disrespect but I am right.

Look at the quality of international foreign players we attracted during K.K.s reign first time.

Players will come to play for a good club and manager.

Look at some of the top-class internationals playing in some of the grimy industrial areas of Germany.

And remember he came and played here when he was a top earner.

No need to worry Albi - they’ll dig up anyone with an opinion on us for years to come - for what it’s worth, I think he was fantastic for us and worth a gamble for the money we paid but was ultimately injured a lot and we got good money for him. Would I have had him back at a reduced fee? Yes, absolutely at the time but he didn’t want to come back so fair enough - one who could’ve and should’ve been managed better when he was here but had no connection with us.

    Agreed.

If we are winning things and offer good wages, players won't give a ****.
