Great Goal & Energy by Gallagher

Once upon a time we had great players like Gallagher, Okay, Pereira and Gayle!

Another superb goal today by Gallagher!

How we have fallen with players like Livermore, Hugill and Ajayi in the team.

I even fondly remember Harvey Barnes who turned up every match unlike Phillips whose kit hardly gets dirty!

Don’t disagree but Gallagher, Okay, Pereira, Gayle, Barnes, Diagne, and others such as Maitland-Niles, we all managed to sign on loan. In other words they were NOT our players.

Yes we finally managed to agree a contract with Pereira but took forever and of course it was a means to an end, I.e. so much in his favour he went as soon as he could.

We couldn’t get any of the others to sign for us, either we wouldn’t offer enough, they didn’t want to stay or their clubs wanted to keep them as their players.

Our recruitment stinks or it is simply a reflection of where we stand nowadays post Lai.

Maitland-Niles was useless. Even my Arsenal mate agrees.

Gallagher was never given the freedom to get forward when he played with us.

His remit was to chase everybody that Livermore and Phillips and the rest couldn’t catch or be a r s e d to keep up with.

Most of our woes actually start from the lack of a decent number 9 who can hold the ball up, we rarely get the chance to build the play and let midfielders get up in attacking roles.

Most of us who watch football could find a better number 9 from a lower level Champ or League One side or Premier League reserve than the useless t w a t we are presently overpaying.

Stourbridge’s number 9 is Reece Styche who plays for Gibraltar......I’d rather him than Hugewagebill!
