Having a great time in league one at the moment and fair play to them .

Unlucky to go down last season in my opinion with the amount of games they had to play in the final weeks of the season .

Should have beat us at Oakwell if the truth be known which those three points would have kept em up .

Possibly a striker short last seaon with George Hirst not exactly a success to say the least .

Too good for League1 and not quite good enough at present for the Championship, that's why we're known as a yo-yo club.
The ethos at our club is hard work with some considerable individual skill added.
Paul Warne recruited his back room team with a lot of thought. Appointing ex- players as assistant and goalkeeper coach. People that know what our club is all about.
A smart move by Warne in promoting Matt Hamshaw from the Academy to first team coaching. I've a lot of time for MH and this lad may eventually move up into management if he fancies it.

Enjoying League 1 , it's our comfort zone and entertainment is quite good atm.
My philosophy is make the best of every game because you don't know what's round the corner.

I watched the game yesterday with Cambridge which was a cracking game , the score line did not do it justice , there was excellent football from both side with either of them trying their hardest to win the game, to be honest i thought it could have gone either way but Rotherham just had the extra quality where it counted & well done to them . I sincerely hope they come up especially at the expense of the Massives which would give me extra pleasure , they refer to us as the Dingles & the Millers as Toytown well it would a blow to their ego"s if another team they disrespect went up before them.

Maybe they were unlucky not to have won at Oakwell Animal, and our goal against them was debatable to say the least.
But we can all say that 'If only..' thing can't we, in matches we think we should have won.
I actually think Wycombe were more unlucky to be relegated than Rotherham to be honest, and hey Frank thats not meant to be disrespectful.

Maybe they were unlucky not to have won at Oakwell Animal, and our goal against them was debatable to say the least.
But we can all say that 'If only..' thing can't we, in matches we think we should have won.

Early October to early November we lost 4 key players to long term injuries, one knee ligament damage, one a broken foot, one a broken leg and one ankle damage and yes I realise other teams have injuries but losing 4 key players in 5 weeks is a big hit.
Two bouts of COVID in camp, matches cancelled due to abnormal weather conditions.
By this time games to be rearranged were mounting up.
Ten games in 28 days including 4 in 9 days didn't help our cause.
It did go to the last game of the season though. ( Ring any bells ? )
We also created another record that season, 19 games lost by the odd goal, fine margins.

There's my excuses why we got relegated from the Championship...

Almost forgot, we didn't score enough goals either. ( Ring any bells.?)

I understand all that Frank, about the number of games due to the covid etc, and it does indeed take it out of a team.

As for the lack of goals scored, yeah we're doing it as well this season, it must be catching lol.

Your a positive example though to any team who do go down from the Champship. Its not a disaster if or when it happens because with good planning etc, immediate promotion can be achieved again.

Lg One does seem like a tougher league now though compared to when we were last in it 3 seasons ago.

Those four games in 9 days were brutal Frank at the end of the season and massively unfair in my opinion .

As you say where we had lady luck on our side in 2019/20 you had none .

So Rotherham lost 19 goals by the odd goal.

How many did we win by a odd goal, must have been a similar amount?

Only have to look at our GD to the other top 5 teams, season end.

Best o luck to the Millers. Hope they go up and I think that they will. Paul Warne is a good manager. I remember him as a player when I went to Millmoor in the late 90s and he was pretty decent, a good pro. I went to the Play off game with Orient about 1998ish? and the Southern lot sneaked through that night much to my Rotherham mates disappointment. I showed him the 'Barnsley FC' painted on the back of the away stand- he were like "who the fuq did that!"

Also went to a FA cup 1st rd game against Kings Lynn at Millmoor where Rotherham won handsomely 6-0 I think. Trouble flared in the infamous County Borough after the match

Only time I saw Barnsley laik theear was a 1-1 draw under Steve Parkin.

Not bin to New York stadium yit although it looks well when wiv driven past.

I wish we could play them more regularly, and have nights like that one in May '81.
Remember when we were both going for the Lg One (Third Division) title, and it went down to the wire.
Ive always wondered what both sets of fans would have been like in those days, if we had as many social platforms like what we have now. It might have got very tasty on this and their board. 😋
