    A bit of DFC modelling

What's your best and worst case scenario for rest of season.

Best.....flukey Scottish cup semi, 9th place finish

Worst....last 16 of cup, 12th, relegated at tannadice last game pre split, move out of Dens and to Arbroath in May.

Median....11th, losing cup quarter finals, beat the red lichties over 2 games in playoff.

Best 9th and win both games against our neighbours because they do not make top 6. Scottish Cup semi final against loss to Rangers who lose in final to Livi.
Median 11th and stay up by winning playoff, preferably against Killie as would love to see Arbroath promoted as champions. Win at least on Scottish Cup tie at Dens.
Worst 12th, lose first game in Scottish Cup to Cove Rangers or similar second ranking club. McPake is invited to go to Hibs as an experienced pair of hands because the experiment of hiring a rookie has been a disaster.

I thought that we had been drawn against Dumbarton (a) in our first game in the Scottish Cup on Saturday 22nd January 2022.

It will be interesting to see what Nippy does in three weeks time about letting all fans into football grounds. Dumbarton only has one Stand which has a capacity of 2.200. I think that it would be difficult to carry out any social distancing at New Boghead or whatever it is called.
Surprisingly there has been no mention from Nippy of introducing one metre social distancing on the Calmac ferries as there is a far greater risk of contracting the Omnicron variant on a Calmac ferry where everyone is indoors at this time of year sheltering from the inclement weather than sitting in the open air at Dens Park or any other football stadium in Scotland. Despite lateral flow tests supposed to be mandatory on all Calmac sailings neither my wife nor myself have ever been asked if we have taken a lateral flow test prior to boarding the Calmac Ferry since they became mandatory earlier this year.

To be fair, they probably realise you just break the rules on travel whenever you want anyway,so no point asking. You also have previous for lying so double whammy there.

But on topic, best case scenario we sign a couple of centre half's,probably a full back, players come back from injury and mcpake does the business at the business end and we finish 6th or 7th.

Somewhere in the middle... I think living will struggle and possibly St mirren,so 9th or 10th by a couple of points.

Worst case,we are doomed to the drop, another year goes by with no spades in ground, teams cherry pick from our squad, and another rebuild is needed. We spend another season at least in championship, and someone buys islay a new keyboard, and he makes as much use out of it as possible.

    And another holiday gets cancelled

Think Islay would contest these allegations of yours. My experience of communicating with him is that he is sincere and honest.

Thanks Islay. Losing to Dumbarton would be much more humiliating than losing to high flying Cove Rangers. Thought losing to Paul Hartley might upset us a bit!

Remember the time I asked if he was still in dundee or back in islay? Two posts, two answers, two places...two minutes apart.
