The 3 obvious ones I've seen are Waddle, Beardsley and Gascgoine and, for me, it was Beardsley who was the best. Maybe it helps that he was involved, second time round, with some amazing memories and I obviously saw him play for us a lot more than the other two. That partnership with Cole was fantastic and he scored some of the best goals I've seen a Newcastle player score.

Probably the best of those was against Brighton in Keegan's last game when he did a one-two with Keegan, slid to take the ball away from the defender, and in one move, swivelled and chipped Corrigan from the edge of the box. Now I'm fairly sure I'm right that Corrigan holds the record for being the league's tallest ever 'keeper at just over 25 ft so that makes it doubly impressive.

Over to you. Might be a bit churlish to put up a thread about the worst ever locally born player today, seeing as it's Christmas...but it's coming. And we probably have more candidates for that
