Gerrard stated changes for next week!

    Changes yes, options?
    Players at risk:
Cash- no point attacking if you keep losing the ball and cannot cross
Mings- all heart but no brain.
Chambers- Does not look like a CB.
Luiz- too many times cought on the ball, rubbish at set pieces.
Buendia- playing like a yoyo, good bad and ugly
Watkins- has lost his touch and keeps being cought offside.

    Players to come in:

    Chambers - RB?
    Konsa- back as normal.
    Hause- Deserves his chance
    Sanson- needs a run
    Chuckie- maybe, maybe not?
    Ings- get him in
    Bailey- need width.

He said 'Changes' thats SG, he looked completely pi55ed off today, he didn"t even argue about VAR. Obviously Watford at home has to be 3pts and no excuses, we need a good moral boosting result, get to that 30pt mark and we are on the home straight, lose and the doubts will start coming in.
I want to see more effort let alone the actual Manager!

Konsa has a 2 game ban TD, interesting that the Geordies thought we edged the first half and were all over them 2nd half, couldn't disagree more.

Hause - not for me, he's slow and a left footed player alongside Mings (we are terrible at the back without him and he made some excellent interventions today) unbalances us further but there is a way to play them both.

If he makes too many changes it could backfire on us, a bit like fielding a side for a cup match so with the tin hat on.....

    Chambers/Mings/Hause
    Young/Sanson/Buendia/McGinn/Ramsey
    Countinho/Ings

Gives us a highly technical midfield and the legs to cover the wide areas when out of possession, Bailey for Young with 30 left if chasing the game.

2 game ban! Was not a straight red, was it because was classed as violent conduct? You missed Digne or watkins in your line up unless your confident of playing with 10 men 😚 will be intetesting though!

I think that WCV believes that with Martinez is a given, so doesn't need naming.

    Em1

    Young
    Chambers
    Mings
Digne (lucky to keep his place)

    Sanson

McGinn (lucky to keep his place)
    Ramsey
    Carney

    Coutinho

    Ings

I don't trust Buendia, Cash, Luiz, Bailey, or Traore (injured again, I think) to start. I'd say that Tim lad or Tommi O'Reilly if Sanson hasn't managed to superglue his glass legs back on.

I think the headlines have gone to Cash's head, it looks like Dougie is not interested, Ings wishing he had stayed at Southampton and Watkins has had his head turned, now dreaming of playing for Arsenal!
Gerrard needs to rectify this ASAP...

I think from the face on him SG realises how fragile this team is, absolutely zero confidence shown by them with very few exceptions, Watford game is going to be about getting wide to stretch the blocking midfield Woy will put out, a mix of guile and guts needed, absolutely no idea if that is possible with this squad, but I would go with a flat back 4 2 defensively minded mids with one either side of them playing a more attacking role, plus 2 up front (not necessarily the strikers), something like this
    Emi 1
    cash hause mings young/digne
    emi2 sjm luis bailey/young
    coutinho ramsey.

On paper that team beats Newcastle, especially what they had out as the game wore on - we have shown that we can play lovely football for spells but that isn't going to win enough games & achieve the stated ambitions of our owners. We don't seem to be able to mix it with the physical sides and act quickly where the formation or game-plan isn't working when we were led to believe we have a world class backroom team.

SG has got to sort out the linking up the midfield with the defence so we can play out from the back and build up the play from there. Wish we still had Archer or Davies to act as target men in a front two when we're chasing it but we haven't.

The absence of clear cut chances is a big worry and putting the defence under huge pressure where every mistake becomes blown out of all proportion. That's why we need to give Ings more minutes, he sticks them away and will get perfect passes from Coutinho.
