    Matchday Thread: Millwall Musings....

What's this match against the Derby Old Boys XI going to bring? 22 draws so far this season, Us 12, them 10.

Will Rowett rule or be ruled? Pearce be polished or panicky? Malone massive or meek? Evans elusive or easy? Kieftenbeld a killer or a kitten? Bennett belligerently on fire or benign?

IMO typical Millwall trying to maraud to victory in a manner more suited to their old manor but we will weather their worrying tactics to win, 2-1.

Been on the alliteration pills, MA?

‘After the Lord mayor’s show’ time and, assuming we have no injury worries, a horrible 0-0 or low scoring draw. Hope I’m wrong and we hammer them.

I’d keep calming, capable and clever Cashin in. Thought he was superb on Saturday.

    Agree r'Anag
Let's just get a 1-1 draw and walk away without any further suspensions / injuries. As much as Lawrence is a huge influence on our positive results, if there was a game where he'd get sent off, it's this one, so it might perversely be a good game to miss him.

I didn't think Kieftenbeld was ever officially our player? Documentation delays or something?

I think he was signed in Twitter land, but not in reality! There may even have been a dcfc.co.uk story on signing him, but my memory isn't what it was, and if I remember right, it wasn't good then either!

I think a draw is most likely, 3 pts would be nice and an "up yours" to Rowatt!

IIRC, he signed on the dotted line, as did we. The paperwork just didn't get cleared by FA/EFL (one, tother or both) in time, 2 or 3 minutes too late.......

Bennett has scored 3 goals in last 4 matches, but our top goalscorer is out injured, Bradshaw.. But I am sure Rooney will put out a good team, I shall be watching. Hope you avoid the drop but not at our expense.

Don't worry Claw, no way are you going down

22 points clear of the drop and 10 shy of the playoffs. Midtable mediocrity seems to be your destiny this season.

Its a game we should win, and a month ago one that we probably would have won, But the pressure is ramping up as the dim glow from the prospect of survival has grown brighter.

Plus Reading and Barnsley winning last night has made this more of a "must win" than a "well its a few more points". Be interesting to see how we react to these changing pressures - Birmingham at home and Peterbrough at home were mixed bags that eventually ended not so badly. The smoggies game was another matter. The pressure is mounting - the next 4 games are crucial. Anything less than 3 wins and a draw may see us slide back towards 10 points from safety, depending on how well Reading do

So, stand up or fold? Millwall is the sort of game that could (and has) go either way. Lets hope the kids are up for it again and we are in the middle of a 5 game win streak!

    0-0
