    Quite a few did sandpit.

Short memories a lot of them.

It is sad that, when you look at the history of Carlisle United, apart from a brief period around 1974, people have always had to leave the club to progress their careers.

Paul had a family, was youngish and ambitious to do well. We should have thanked him for his success and wished him well. Lets hope he can achieve similar this season. Any free agents about for central defence and goal scoring? We need a Kevin Grey and a Michael Bridges.

I am sure he knows the magnitude of the the job and will be the first to say he might not stop the club going down but will give it his best shot. Not much time to work with the squad and right in at the deep end as it were, good luck and he will need some.
