So impressed by his leadership and bravery. Standing there with his people in Kviv and fighting to the last. What a great example to our leaders. Nothing but praise for this guy and how he has conducted himself in an impossible situation.
Don't think anyone can disagree with that. His courage, determination and leadership have so obviously inspired and united so many in his country and he has put many Western leaders to shame. He is far from the "drug addled neo-nazi" that Putin's childish mud slinging lies have attempted to portray as his actions throughout these exceptionally dark days have demonstrated. Let's hope that the respect he as earned from the West turns into increased support and that he and Ukraine ultimately prevail.
Considering a few years ago the guy was a comedian, perhaps that's helping him. Some times in life you DO need a sense of humour.
Just wonder how many of the current crop of "Professional" politicians across the world would take that decision.
I'll answer it fecking none...
Spineless..... 😠
I said the same about Zelensky on here earlier in the week.
What an impressive man.
His speech today was so inspiring and he even managed a reassuring smile for his countrymen.
The interview with the young Ukrainian soldier on the bridge by the SKY reporter was harrowing, the poor lad was almost in tears.
Putin is a disgusting human being.
Knowing our luck it’ll be him that buys us off Lai.
So many stories of unimaginable bravery (esp in this day and age) coming out of Ukraine
Must be such a motivation to have your President being so involved rather than in a suit in exile or just on TV somewhere
He easily could have done that
Zelensky is key to the resistance of his country against the Russian invasion and so obviously inspired and unites them. Putin will certainly target him as much of the ramped up support in recent days from the West is down to his actions as a leader.
Putin is clearly losing the war in the court of public opinion but he is a bully and will not allow himself to be seen to lose face. I fear far more destruction and deaths because he is committed now and won't turn back. Putin will bring more destructive military might to bear down on Ukraine regardless of public opinion or how much the financial sanctions are genuinely hurting him or his country. Sadly, the strength of his control at home will probably mean that any domestic resistance will be pretty muted and cannot see him being toppled from power any time soon.
If Zelensky can survive then Ukrainians will continue to fight and make any kind of Russian occupation exceptionally difficult but the cost in lives and destruction will be high. Maybe his invitation to create a "foreign legion" will attract others to fight for their cause as happened during the Spanish Civil War but this will only prolong the conflict given the imbalance of military capabilities. Like Hitler or Stalin there is no means of truly negotiating with Putin which makes him a very dangerous individual. NATO won't risk deploying boots on the ground because of this and the fear of sparking WW3. A timely assassins bullet might help.
Have to agree with everything above, the ‘foreign legion’ would be a great moral booster to the Ukrainians would be great to see this happening and portrayed by the international press.
I hope Putin is beheaded and his head used as a football! Murderer!
