Abramovic - Who does He Think He’s Kidding!?

    A charitable trust “running the club”.......oh please do us a huge f e c k I n favour Roman!

An absolutely laughable statement if it wasn’t for the seriousness of the situation.

If this is truly the case then legal documentation needs to be shown and his relinquishing of Chelsea needs to be official.

Anyone caught taking behind the scenes orders from him by phone, text or email needs to be charged with fraud from this point onwards.

This is actually the perfect “opportunity”, although I feel uncomfortable in using that terminology, to rid football of scum owners.

The “right and proper” test has been an utter joke for the entirety of its existence, this is the time to draw the line in the sand.

A new and totally independent body should be created to adjudge on the ownership of ALL U.K. sporting teams.

As an independent country we now have a lot of power in this regard, we cannot be told what to do anymore on things such as this.

The same goes for corrupt regimes as it does for the likes of China and Saudi Arabia, if your human rights standards do not meet our own then you should be precluded from owning a U.K. club.

It should be the same for U.K. businesses as well but that’s a horse that’s bolted too far.

This one hasn’t and it needs to change and change NOW!

Smacks of desperation. Why has he not been sanctioned yet?
Is he a donor to someone with the usual influence?
Seems like it. They are allowing to much time for the freezing of assets.

This has a bad smell to it. The BBC not convinced....

It is not known yet if Abramovich will be sanctioned as part of the UK government's measures against Russia.

BBC Sport understands Chelsea are not for sale, and the £1.5bn loan their owner gave to the club is not being called in.

Abramovich is one of Russia's richest people and is believed to be close to Russian President Vladimir Putin

Totally 100% agree! It's all f uckin bollox! This asset of Chelsea FC and any other asset should be frozen. If he does not have a UK passport then he should be banned from residing here along with any other stooge of Putin.

If I was a Chelsea supporter then I would disown my club until he's gone - simple as with atrocities committed by his partners in crime in Ukraine.

I would imagine everybody, except Chelsea fans, will be hoping for a Liverpool victory this afternoon.

Jerusalem Post: Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich in Belarus for talks

The newspaper claims the Russian is in Belarus assisting in the Ukraine-Russia talks, at Kyiv's request.

"I can confirm that Roman Abramovich was contacted by the Ukrainian side for support in achieving a peaceful resolution, and that he has been trying to help ever since," Abramovich's spokesperson told the PA news agency.

"Considering what is at stake, we would ask for your understanding as to why we have not commented on neither the situation as such nor his involvement. Thank you."

Billionaire Abramovich has come under fire in London over reports of his past relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Over the weekend he said he was giving management of Chelsea to the team's charitable foundation amid calls for him to be sanctioned.

Abramovic has been mute for 20 years!

Hard to know what he could add to “talks” FFS.

A cosmetic exercise, he must think people are as stupid as Putin.

Fair play to him I say , he probably won't have any effect on the situation but to be asked to help & he said he would try to do something has to be given some credibility, anything is better than nothing ,
