O/T - Would You Sign Up To Fight?

I've been thinking about this today.

I'm 60 and "past it" but I think a lot of our generation would sign up in whatever form to fight in a "Dad's Army" and I certainly think that people like my 29 year old son would join up without hesitation should things turn really bad with Russia.

Inspirational stuff from the Klitchsko brothers and from that three belt Ukranian World boxing champion who's signed up and gone to the front line I believe.

In all conscience I just couldn't live with myself if I just sat back and did nothing, I think that goes for a huge number of us.

I once read an article about how you think you would have responded to events that happened in the past... like outbreak of war or sinking of Titanic for example.
The answer is in how you act today.
Conclusion ...If you are an arse hole today....chances are you would have been back then to.

As an ex serviceman of many years through my 20s till late 30s I can only add as admirable and brave it is to just join and fight, it is almost impossible to train somebody to just hold a weapon correctly let alone load and fire at another human being.
Sure there’s many other things you can contribute but going up against a formidable trained Russian infantrymen, would be suicidal. Although they are doing well thus far if the spetnaz are unleashed in great numbers then I fear for them. My heart is with the Ukrainians

It is some of these units that have not crossed over from Russia proper yet......but this is all the more surprising. That they have not been used in any numbers so far....makes me question the original military objective. If they have underestimated there opponents, it may be on account of there complacency...and there success in 2014 campaign. But this is in an area that has a large population of Russian speaking Ukrainians as well as ethnic Russian.......but the rest of Ukraine......not the case....
