The EFL has seen fit to appoint Andy "Taffy" Davies to ref this game. Good job we're not paranoid innit?

1-1
Well thats all folks! See you in league 1, assuming the club still exists!
Just hope we compete until the last day. I can take relegation, but don't want a whimper, it's been a good show (effort wise) so far.
The Clubs existence is ALL that matters, we can come back from L1 or wherever! In fact we might win a few games!!
As you are all aware, I'm one the glass half full types tempered with a hint of realism. Following my contemplating my navel on last night's performance and it's relativity to the rest of the season, I have concluded that we are League 1 bound. Having reached this conclusion I feel like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. Que sera sera.
Last night was symptomatic of our season (and last season). They had 14 shots, 4 of which were on target, from 36% possession. Of those 4 on target, one was the goal (which should have been disallowed or never have happened, more on that later), another was a 35 yarder saved by Allsop, the other two approached the goal at the speed of a granny on crutches. Cardiff did hit the bar twice as well. From our 64% possession we manged just 9 shots with only Rav's header that was pushed onto the post by their keeper on target.
One of the best defences in the League and one of the least effective attacks. Even the impending return of Loz doesn't fill me with great confidence.
Last night, defensively, we played well and also had a couple of instances, as we do every game, where the ball's in our box and we simply cannot get it away.
We played some good stuff, until we got within 20 to 25 yards of their goal. A combination of their well drilled defence and our own inability to make the killer pass or actually shoot is why we ended up with zero again. That failing isn't going to be overcome in sufficient games this season to see us garner sufficient points to survive, I'm afraid.
The goal? How that stood is totally incredible. We're on the attack, Festy stops and turns on the edge of their box, has lost control of the ball and gets his foot kicked. It's a free kick all day long but the ref decided otherwise. Just as he had earlier in the game when Festy was driving into the box and had his right ankle taken out just outside the box. Any way, they attack, ball ends up on the right with their winger who has no white shirt within 20 yards of him (how often have I said that we should be closer to the opposition wide men?), he moves inside, crosses and there's Uche Ikpeazu who manhandles Curt to the floor prior to turning the ball into the net. Two free kicks denied inside a minute. Had either have been given, they would not have scored that goal.
We'll still get some points this season but I don't believe we will get sufficient goals to amass enough points to avoid relegation.
Despite all of the above, I'm flying over for the Bournemouth game. Don't have a ticket and the allocation is sold out. Looks like I'll have to watch it in a Derby pub. Blackpool away is another possible trip and Cardiff at Pride Park on May 7th is a guarantee.
Derby till I die.
Totally agree with everything you say. It's been the same all season, pretty football but no punch! Kaz bagged a few earlier in the season but generally we have sod all up front! My missus has a pet budgie ant that evil bugger has got more bite!
We'll need goals in whatever division that Mel and the EFL's (with help from the Administrators) shenanigans finally dump us in OR more trap doors will await!
Maddy would you like to revisit this?
Where does that leave us?
7 home games.
Millwall Barnsley Coventry PNE Cardiff wins
Bristol draw
Fulham loss
7 away games.
Luton Blackpool win
Cardiff Swansea draw
Bournemouth Blackburn QPR lose
Calculating in that I might not have all my predictions correct, somewhere between 20 and 24 points which will see us somewhere between 41 and 45 points.
I was wrong! Simple.
I wear my heart on my sleeve. When I make a mistake there's always going to be one with a sarcy response. Water off a duck's back.
Re the ref, I forgot to mention their player backing into Cashin, pushing him back 5 yards, Cashin then moved aside and the bloke fell over and demanded a free kick. Jodrell.
Another of their players fell as if hit by a torpedo. He got a free kick and Davies got a yellow. There was no contact.
Ikpeazu runs straight at Curtis and body check him in full view of the ref. No free kick.
One of the worst refereeing performances we've seen this season and there have been very many bad ones.
