The Courier

Just watched The Courier on Amazon Prime and would recommend this old fashioned Cold War spy story with Benedict Cumberbatch. No big action sequences but good acting and a good story based on the true actions of Greville Wynne, a British businessman recruited to help out Mi6 and the CIA around the time of the Cuba missile crisis. In real life Wynne (like most spies) was more of a fantasist who embellished his stories but even so I found it a good movie-certainly different from The Batman which I saw with my youngest the other night! (though, tbh, I quite enjoyed that too)

The Batman has had quite mixed reviews but must say that I quite enjoyed it. Some have said it is too "dark" but didn't really find it so and guess the Chris Nolan trilogy had set the tone now. I was a bit worried about Paterson in the lead but he was good in Tenet and a good fit here. Some good action set pieces and whilst I felt some bits a bit weak my comic book Geek son assures me that it's all rooted in the various original storylines! One thing I would recommend though is to book some of those comfortable luxury seats with plenty of room as it's about 3 hours long!
