    Don’t blame Boris!

The oldest tactic in the book could be played - a big f uck off to all Russian oil and grab a fantastic deal with the Saudis!

There are always going to be bad guys but negotiating with a power can bring influence and pressure too! For f uck sake 81 executions !!! So what - there are still executions in the USA.

Under certain circumstances I would not dismiss executions in the U.K. I would personally pull the trigger for Sarah Everard’s killer and child killers should encounter a very slow death before being stuck on a bonfire!

Don’t blame Boris on this one! What next Ratcliffe released from Iran? I bet Starmer is so p issed off that parties are chip paper news and Boris is getting worldwide headlines!

Whatever you may think of Boris, and I’ve not been a fan, the UK is still one of the best countries in the World in which to live. I think that our news organisations deliver a fair picture of what’s going on in the World and we are able to stand up and say what we like about our government without fear of disappearing into a Labour camp somewhere. I didn’t vote for Boris but I’d take him any day over the ‘leaders’ of most other countries in the World; I wonder if he is currently questioning whether he made the sensible decision when going for the leadership of the Conservative Party?

Good post Ketts! Never been a fan of Boris myself but since the partygate issues he has handled everything very well to be fair. Sometimes you have to go back to a controversial country to move forward and think the Saudis seem to like him!

I actually think any PM in power would struggle to refuse and cease this chance. The thing with Saudi though is that (despite the human rights record) and despite their corrupt ways, they’ve stated they want to open up to the west.
When AJ fought that boxing rematch against that mexican, the entire media almost were up in arms of why he chose to fight there.. however at the time I thought the country opening up might actually be tiny baby steps to improvements. But they really need to move from 7th century to millennia real fast.

Little steps are being taken and good points you make. The UAE have taken massive strides and tourism there now with absolute luxury accommodation blows the tired old accommodation in Spain away. Could be a massive one for Boris if a deal can be done!

Dealing with the Saudis is the lesser of evils st the moment given Putin’s regime. I saw all these libertarian lawyers coming out today on Saudi human rights and the like .... but to be honest the world has changed and whilst I wouldn’t turn a blind eye to these issues in Saudi ... we have bigger priorities right now .... like survival ...

There may be many countries, especially those in the Middle East, that find that maintaining civilised relations with both sides in the Ukrainian conflict will become impossible. Sitting on the fence is unlikely to be an acceptable option. Very worrying times, but certainly ‘interesting’.

The Saudis don’t want to invade Europe.

They’re also a “free” country in that if you don’t like their laws etc you can leave.

They don’t have their own “Stasi” type operation following and listening in on people as far as I know.

Yes they can get medieval on your a s s to quote Samuel L Jackson in Pulp Fiction but their motivation is money.

By far the lesser of the two evils.

Russia could have an economy and nation designated as “junk” status if the world turns away from them for power.

That expose on Abramovic on the BBC last night was damning.

The bloke is no businessman, he’s an out and out crook.

There’s a bullet with his name on it without a doubt.

Couldn’t agree more Mick!! I love Dubai and the people but get many wouldn’t. If you value your hand you would need steal from a shop there but hey - their laws and culture.

Hope Boris gets a deal and can then tell Putin to shove it.
