I had to chuckle recently when a collector here in the US paid $518,000 for the ball from the last touchdown that Tom Brady threw in the NFL only to see that less than 24h after the auction Brady 'unretired' and the ball became almost worthless. Thankfully I believe the buyer will be getting his money back.

Anyone on here a collector/buyer of sports memorabilia? Like many I have collected things incidentally along the way (especially programmes) but I've never actually bought anything with a view to starting a collection or making any money on it.

Here's what I have that has sentimental but probably no actual value (I definitely didn't pay $518,000 for them ) :-

Complete 1968 Soccer Stars Sticker Album
Johnny Quinn's autograph and one other in my autograph book from that time that I can't decipher. I think they came to a Monkwood Junior School Summer fate.
1985 Ryder Cup Programme (from the famous win at The Belfry after 27 years without a win)
H&A programmes from the 'tenpast Chelsea' season. I've promised these to rilyev but not delivered them yet.
Golf ball from my Dad's hole in one (the first one ever recorded at Roundwood G.C.)
