    Asylum Processing

Sounds like a good idea to me and bit like the Australian system. Perhaps France should pay for the flights as they are the ones turning a blind eye to the crossings! All for legal immigration and Ukrainians but not these illegal crossings!

The government plans to fly asylum seekers to Rwanda for processing in an attempt to tackle small boat crossings in the Channel

It’s about time the government got tough as it’s like bees around a honey pot!!

My money is on a very quick U turn. This government is very sensitive to criticism, and doesn't have the cajones to see things through. Nice try but no cigar

I’ll be very surprised if this strategy comes to pass, some ‘uman rights lawyer will mount a challenge in the courts and the ensuing long drawn out (expensive) legal arguments will begin.

Knowing you’re going to get shipped to Rwanda if you get caught on a dingy should be enough to put people off trying to get here in such big numbers.

Exactly Mick! We can’t keep letting in thousands of illegals as more and more see it as a honey pot. Then there’s the security aspect! France are taking zero accountability and bet they are fuming. No human rights lawyer should be allowed to overturn this. At the end of the day surely an individual if their case is legit will jump through hoops to get a successful application albeit vis Rwanda?

Most of the Ukrainians even will mass slaughter who have come here will want to return to their country when it’s safe. Don’t others love their homeland just as much?

Surely everyone can see this for what it is? A PR smokescreen. There’s zero chance of this happening, it’s just a ploy to whip up support within their target demographic.

And when it doesn’t happen the govt will blame ‘lefty do-gooder lawyers’ who are just doing their job and operating within the law.

    You heard it here first.

No chance...considering the boats most have been accustomed to crossing...I doubt it...
That won't stop it...Many of these are really desperate.....like leaving Libya..on a raft...Many still would rather take the chance, then stay where they are coming from...at least they chose their own death getting in a boat..instead of a bullet in the head.

That’s pretty much what I said in my post on this subject. The human rights lawyers must be rubbing their hands in anticipation of the riches to come! That said, something must be done to stop these migrants because long term it is unsustainable. I understand that these people want a better life and I sympathise with that but the numbers keep growing and will continue to do so, therefore, unsustainable .
