At certain points in many clubs history's they find themselves two divisions below from where they should really be .

Unless there is a change of ownership or the model changes to recruiting the best players we can afford rather than the best under 24 players we feel we can develop and make money on then we could quite easily be another club who ends up two divisions where we should really be .

This model has had its moments especially in the early years under Cryne but it's totally shot now and it's shot to the extent that I don't believe it's recoverable .

It's possible to turn your fortunes around if you are willing to look at ALL players irrespective of age .

Huddersfield and Luton have proved that this season , Huddersfield haven't spent a single penny on last summer's recruitment , every player they signed was out of contract and a free agent , players we didn't even consider because they were 28 years old or above .

Luton picked up Snodgrass for absolutely nothing .

As I said the model did well for a period but over a long term period it's an abject failure .

We've no money left and our players aren't worth shyte .

We've wasted more money than many of these players will bring in collectively .

Compound that with the worst season we've had at this level in 70 years and you'd imagine a light would come on in these owners arrogant heads .

    Me neither .

When I say the model was an earlier success it was and it wasn't .

We've had some success with it on the field with an instant return to the championship and a fifth placed play off championship finish .

But it hasn't delivered the really big fee for a player that was massively important to keep the sell for profit and reinvest that it desperately needed .

The money it brought in during the early years , Mawson , Roberts , Hourihane etc etc simply got us out of debt to Patrick Cryne and made the club an attractive purchase for prospective buyers .

It's all gone spectacularly downhill since then and it's finally caught up with us this season .

There's absolutely no way this model can be rekindled and to continue with it is pure arrogance .

The model isn't working too well with their other European clubs either .

The definition of madness is to carry on making the same mistakes over and over again .

They need to leave or change direction before we really are fecked .

In my opinion I never thought Patrick's model was ever about achieving massive success .

The model came to be so that Patrick didn't have to keep loaning the club money so it could pay its way .

It was never anything more than that which isn't a criticism of Patrick but just my view on how he saw the model .

The ownership again in my opinion saw some extraordinary sales under Patrick for very little outlay and thought by using analytics they could make the club more valuable in order to profit from at a point of sale without spending any of their own funds on the project .

In other words they thought they could do even better and make a good profit on a pretty low investment .

That's not happened for a variety of reasons and in all reality the cracks in the model were covered up by an instant return to the championship under Stendel , an extraordinary chain of events under Struber to keep us in the championship and a one off season during a global pandemic and one hell of an extraordinary HC who had the ability and playing conditions to turn water in to wine .

The truth is the model was already fecked during the summer of 2019 when Pinnock , Lindsay , Moore and Adam Davies left and Stendel was tasked with getting a championship tune out of 8 or 9 new and inexperienced recruits .

That summer is where the good financial work left by Patrick Cryne was thrown down the plug hole .

I give you , Bambo , Radlinger , Thomas , Wilks , Schmidt , Halme and Oduor and to a certain degree Chaplin .

Now we've no room for feck ups and in all reality not one of those players could be considered a success and more valuable today than they were three years ago .

Collins and Andersen are probably the only two and even then they aren't going to bring in much more than we paid for them .

This has been coming it really has .

We've all been sucked in to a certain degree by that extraordinary night at Griffin Park and the last season's covid season .

However when foundations are built on straw don't be surprised when the building eventually collapses .

    That's what's happened .
