Regime change at Carlisle United is imminent

Is regime change at Carlisle United really imminent? There seems to be significant optimism about this situation. Possibly this is because Paul Simpson has worked a miracle and he has stated his terms for staying on. Will this stating of such terms have any effect on the regime such that it leaves and new ownership occurs? Of course it will not.

The reality is that only a complete imbecile would take over the club and take on the debt to Purepay of £2.7+ million. This debt is the manifestation of the failure of The Three and as long as it exists there will be no change of ownership. That amount of money is much more than the whole of the club's assets, Brunton Park being worth fuck all for obvious reasons as well as there being a covenant ('sports use only'). The cash at bank situation is now believed to be less than £250,000, most of the transfer fee money has now gone to pay back substantial trading losses.

As for the Personal Guarantees I doubt that PD will implement those which would mean taking the cash mainly from AJ.
Yes, legally / technically PD (Purepay) can get the money but I seriously doubt that it is going to happen. The debt will remain in place. As long as this is the case there will be no new ownership, Paul Simpson will leave and next season there will be a serious danger of the club's first team finishing in a relegation place with not only the debt to Purepay increasing by interest but also with no substantial transfer fees coming in and a substantial trading loss being made.

To put it succinctly, if PD wakes up one morning having not had a good shag, then by the end of the day the club will be insolvent and cease to exist.
