Quality stuff so far. The difference is that one side has taken its chances and the other hasn’t. But neither looks unbeatable.

I’d rather face stockport than Wrexham if it came to it. Stockports current form has a touch of cheaterfields about it and I think they will wobble if they don’t get auto.

Wrexham are the only club to fear now. If they go up auto, Notts will join them so long as they don't put in another Chesterfield Away or Aldershot away type of performance. Solihull have been on a great run but we know Ardley bottles it when it matters.

Bizarrely, given the scoreline, I'd say Stockport were the better team for most of the first half.

Wrexham are more limited with a very direct approach which is effective when it comes off.

Not sure which is the best match up for Notts. Maybe Stockport.

Also, do we have a throw in analyst? Not really total football but statistically there must be a huge advantage to turning every throw in in the opposition half into a dangerous set piece, and we know the bros like their stats.

Not that I think we’d beat either of them but o think we’d stand more chance against Wrexham. Challinor knows exactly how to play against us, even when he was Hartlepool boss. We’ve looked pretty competitive against Wrexham.

In honesty, I don’t even fancy us against Grimsby at home. I forgot their managers name but he too knows how to set up against us.

    Sorry for the pessimism!

If we do have to play them again, beating Wrexham will be a tough ask, but for the first 30 minutes today, they looked nervous and disjointed. Taking chances (which Stockport didn’t) would be vittel.

But that’s probably looking too far into the future. One game at a time....

Yep, if Madden had taken his chance first it would have been a completely different game, but he didn’t and may live to regret it.
