Interesting to hear him say his head had been turned and he wasn't enjoying his football. Perhaps Eddie can turn him around like Krafth, Big Joe etc

...or there is not going to be this massive influx of quality players in the window.

I'm not convinced by Longstaff at all. Prefer to keep Uncle Fester than him....

He might just need a change of position, He could have a Joelinton style turnaround. Stick him in goal, see what he can do.

Need to have so many homegrown players in a squad. Let's be honest, apart from Trippier top English players are not going to come here yet unless we pay over the odds.
The majority of our signings will come from abroad. Therefore meaning we need the likes of Longstaff for squad requirements.
Much better deals for much better prices are to be had from abroad. I mean 40m for Bruno or 80m for McGuire. Its a no brainer to look abroad.
It's a massive "yes" from me that he has signed. If he plays like he has the last 2 games on a regular basis we will all be happy.

I'm fairly pleased with this to be honest.

I do like him and think he'll do well under Howe, no he won't take us to the next level but he'll be a useful squad player and we can now command a fee for him as well.

    Well...I;m glad.

Further forward, I think he can be more effective. That fucking clown Bruce ruined him as far as I'm concerned-remember how Pardew ruined Tiote by pushing him further forward? Well I think Cabbage Heed did the same to Longstaff but by pushing him further back. Maybe the damage is too great to undo but I'd like to see Howe try.

I have noticed a slight improvement in Longstaff over the last couple of games, which is why I’m glad he’s staying. This improvement could possibly be down to having his contract sorted out, maybe it’s been done weeks ago, only now publicised, and that’s made a difference? The other reason for his improvement is probably watching Bruno everyday in training, couple of his passes in recent games have been really Brunoesque, the little chip leading to Bruno’s goal against Arsenal, and the one he slipped through against Burnley. I know it’s not very much but at least he’s starting to look for those kind of passes and has the confidence to execute them, just needs to do it more often.

Obviously, Eddie Howe has to be trusted. If 99% of us had our way, and I include myself in that mob, Jolinton would have been sold for a pittance at the last window and another astute manager would have picked up a bargain.

I also have to agree with Zip re playing position and bad handling in the past and Geordie1974 regarding our homegrown contingency
