As a yank I don’t always understand the monarchy but anyone can see she has committed her life to the institution

Wish our rulers were half as dedicated

Many would be pleased to just live till 70, so for her to be Queen for that period of time is extraordinary. Fraility has set in, but such grace and dignity in her appearance still. I'm not a lover of royalty in particular, but the way traditions are upheld with ceremonies and celebrated events certainly fascinates me. Wishing her good health going forward. ☺

A fantastic figurehead for the UK, through thick & thin, witnessed many changes, but always able to adjust with the times. One or two

At least our rulers have to work for a living all the monarchies do is get free billions and make occasional appearances. I'll never forgive her for overturning our best ever hope of a prime minister who in a short space provided Australians with free medical and other things witch still stand the length of time.
Not really sure but I think very few countries have kings and queens nowadays.

The Queen would not have done as you suggest. As a constitutional monarch she gives her assent to legislation (and occsionally governmental edicts), she DOES NOT govern, neither does she appoint or remove governmental officials from countries where she remains head of state. You want to vent your spleen on those who may have interfered with the choice of Australian PM, take aim at the UK government of the time.

As for working for a living......our Queen, in her early twenties, declared her devotion (stress, DEVOTION) to her people (and by God we were and are her people), for her life. She is in her 90's, has made COUNTLESS "occasional appearances", acts as head of all manner of armed forces units, sponsor of equally countless charitable organisations, acts as a beacon of stability in anever-changing world, counsellor to other heads of state across decades and across the world, with no prospect if "retirement" save when death takes her, lost a husband of over 40 years, had to sit alone during his state funeral because of Covid, and STILL fulfils that dedication to HER people. No head of state, EVER, has shown such ability, such capability, such devotion to duty. Wash your mouth out with soap.
