    They're coming for Bob now.

"Burnley review Bob Lord's legacy after emergence of anti-Semitic comments."

"Former chairman spoke at a dinner seven years before his death in 1981 where his remarks caused many of the guests to walk out early."

"Burnley are reviewing the legacy of former chairman Bob Lord over anti-Semitic remarks made by him in the Seventies.

Lord, who passed away in 1981 and has a stand named after him at Turf Moor, spoke at a Variety Club dinner seven years before his death where he said “we have to stand up against a move to get soccer on the cheap by the Jews who run TV”.

The event, which is told in the book Does Your Rabbi Know You're Here? by Anthony Clavane, caused many of the guests to walk out early of the dinner.

The Jewish Chronicle have reported calls for the Bob Lord Stand to be renamed. Burnley, who were relegated from the Premier League last month, have confirmed they are speaking to the Football Association and anti-discrimination campaigners Kick It Out over the matter.

“We are aware of historical matters that are openly available in the public domain regarding former Burnley FC Chairman Robert William Lord (Bob Lord), this and ongoing discussion concerning Bob Lord remain under review by Burnley Football Club, The Football Association, Kick it Out and other authorities and personnel,” said the club in a statement.

“It is extremely important to Burnley Football Club to keep an open dialogue with the local and wider Jewish community, and we urge anyone who has experienced or been impacted by antisemitism in football to report it directly to Kick it Out using their online reporting form or via the dedicated Kick it Out reporting app.

“Antisemitism continues to be a problem in the UK and in our society, and it is right that as a Football Club and as a Government we are able to demonstrate the seriousness in which we take it, as we do for other forms of hate crime. Antisemitism must be understood for what it is – an attack on the identity of people who live, contribute, and are valued in our society,” read Burnley’s statement.

“Burnley Football Club and its commitment to tackling all forms of discrimination as defined by the Equality Act 2010 has been built on the solid work of UK legislation and standards as set by the Premier League, English Football League, The Football Association and Kick it Out.”

Any suggestions for what we should call what is now the Bob Lord Stand ? Because re-named it will be, of that there can be no doubt.

It's just got to be the Sean Dyche Stand hasn't it.

This is referring to a comment made by Bob Lord regarding televised football. Although his language was often questionable I think that asking the club to rename the stand is over the top, especially in view to the time that has elapsed since the comment was made.

If the club do decided to rename the stand I would suggest "The Barry Kilby" Stand.

At the time we felt it should be called TheMartin Dobson Stand.

Burnley Football Club urgently need to have an "ongoing discussion concerning acquiring a new manager" and stop worrying about what Bob Lord may or may not have said 40 years ago.

If the woke brigade really need to be offended they need look no further than the tripe that comes out of Blow Job's gob.

I think whoever brought that to light knocked on the door and said Bob lord was anti semetic should have been told to bugger off and sharpish.

These people are mental , there is no other explanation

As for us and the club - we need a new manager structure and players - and we’re messing around with Kick it out on something said years ago when things did get said that shouldn’t.

They are driving the proper football fans away from football imo anyway , just about sick to death of all this RUBBISH.

It's just more virtue-signalling drivel, Cancel Culture in action, but this is the lunatic asylum we live in nowadays. Our new owners are fully paid up members of the Wokerati though, they'll go right along with this nonsense, the Bob Lord Stand WILL be re-named.

Two things intrigue me in that piece.

1)"The Jewish Chronicle have reported calls for the Bob Lord Stand to be renamed."

That's a bit vague, just who has made those calls, why don't they say ? And why now, those remarks were made 48 years ago.

    2) "Burnley review Bob Lord's legacy after emergence of anti-Semitic comments."

That is simply factually incorrect, Bob's remarks have not just 'emerged', they were reported and there was controversy the same night he made them, some people might not have liked them, but we lived in a free country back then, they weren't hidden, he made them quite openly and they have been in the public domain for 48 years, they have not just emerged. So as above, why now ?

Spot on sinkov. Clearly, Pace is so far out of his depth he is drowning; we are now in serious danger of him taking Burnley Football Club and its supporters along with him.

I know our local ITV company was Granada, it was created and run by Sidney Bernstein, I wonder if Bob had had some run-ins with Sidney, and that was who Bob was having a dig at, and possibly others.

I've no idea, just a guess.

They should rename it The Woke Awareness Tribune Stand, that just about sums it up for me.

I'll go with "Everyone is Anti-Semitic Stand".
