Quite a few posters on the comments section seem convinced Saunders either made up or "elaborated" rather a lot of this but it's Brian Clough, who cares, great manager with a matching personality so not hard to picture him doing what Saunders says. Besides, what's that saying about never letting the truth get in the way of a good story? Anyhow, made me chuckle so thanks for posting 👍

Ah I would well believe that discourse to be honest....he was an out and out character in the game and sadly too few of his like around today in the modern game..
I just love listening to those old stories of how deals were done back then.....
