"Brentford near deal for former Burnley captain Ben Mee on free transfer. Negotiations with central defender are in final stages. Mee rejected two other Premier League clubs and MLS move."
Good luck to him, and good luck to Brentford, they clearly hold him in higher regard than we do.

I don’t know if he was offered a contract or simply allowed to go.
I am guessing that he would have been one of our higher earners. With the need to reduce the wages bill, perhaps he was a victim of the cuts.
I wish him well. He was part of one of the best defensive units in the PL, so he can’t be that bad. It would seem that his face did not fit as far as “Let’s all take the knee” Southgate was concerned.
Bloke behind me in the McIlroy Upper always called him Calamity Mee, I never argued.![]()
I have no idea what Kieran Trippier and his England caps has got to do with anything regarding Ben Mee and his departure from BFC, perhaps you can explain mon ami ?
In the meantime, Ben Mee will continue to ply his trade in the Premier League, while his ex-team mates at Burnley will play a division lower in the Championship. I look forward to seeing Ben kissing the Brentford badge, while tossing a proverbial two fingers in the direction of the sour faced Burnley fans who seem to think they have the right to direct his career choices.
While Ben Mee could on rare occasions make a poor choice which led to us conceding a goal, I think that overall he was a fine player and was a credit to Burnley FC.
Ben was out of contracts and I do not know if he was offered a new deal or not, but it looks like he will be playing for Brentford next season and all the best to him.
What is essential that from a week tomorrow we all get behind Vincent Kompany and the team, whoever is playing.
Seriously sinkov? Ben Mee can now kiss the Bees badge whilst simultaneously kissing my arse. Mee suffers from the "Imposter Syndrome", good luck at Brentford Ben - NOT!
All of those glorious photo opportunities showing his devotion to the Clarets' cause on the touchline with Michael Jackson meant the square root of f*ck all.

He was comfortable in a Dyche team which depended on a rock solid defence-that itself says he cannot be a bad player.Whether partnering Keane or Tarks he was part of one of the most successful defensive partnerships in the PL.Yes he had a tendency to drop clangers which invariably cost us points but we got six seasons of avoiding relegation mainly because of our defence. One thing I would say is that he seemed to be slowing down last season.
At the end of the day, he made a decision to leave the timing of which is good for both him and the club in my opinion.Good luck to him at Brentford although I doubt he will get much game time.
