    CUOSC vote

    From their latest briefing:

“Our independent returning officer had an IT issue yesterday, and as a result some of the votes cast electronically yesterday (and only yesterday, Thursday 21/7) were lost.

IF YOU VOTED IN THE BOARD ELECTIONS ON THURSDAY 21 JULY PLEASE RE-SUBMIT YOUR VOTE

The votes cast for the AGM resolutions are not affected but we are asking you to submit BOTH votes again, so we can track who has voted again today. Anyone who was recorded as voting yesterday for the AGM resolutions who does not re-submit will be contacted independently to ensure their vote is submitted and recorded. This issue does NOT affect any votes cast before yesterday”

So if you voted yesterday you’ll have to do so again. Anyway, stuff lost as a result of a software glitch - where have we heard that before?

Based on the general lack of confidence in CUOSC and their representatives, this should surely prompt a request from CUOSC members for the appointment of an "independent" overseer to vet this seemingly incompetent "independent returning officer".

Who is the "independent returning officer"?

    Does anyone know?

Can the "independent returning officer" be trusted?

If the voting goes as we hope with the top 2 eliminated it shoud only take a year to get a majority for UF followers on the board. At the same time, if those two are not selected the other present incumbents should take it as a vote of no confidence and resign to allow a new election.

Call me a cynic but, if If the top 2 are eliminated, I suspect they will simply be co-opted back onto the Board and the number of Board members will be increased accordingly!
