    New Bazaar Doonhamers

    Heard yesterday the New Bazaar has been sold. Hopefully the new owners keep it going as a pub.

    If it is changed it will be a big loss to the many Doonhamer fans who drink here before going to Palmy. I believe it was once a hotel and is over 170 years old

    IF the birthplace of Queens becomes a restaurant it will have to go some to surpass the newly open Home practically next door in the old seed merchants building which is getting rave reviews.

    Another ex - pub that has had various names over the decades - the Railway Inn, the Anaconda etc is now the Black Rooster Piri Piri restauranr / take away

    The Anaconda! I have many memories of the Ananconda. And of Coils, the disco above it. Not all good ones of Coils, I must say...

    Away back in the days when it was the Railway Inn the pub was also the Silver Slipper
