    Rishi Sunak

At the age of 42 Rishi Sunak has got approximately 15 years to become Conservative Party Leader and Prime Minister. After the age of 57 there is not much chance for him. There are exceptions but since WW2 the Conservatives have rarely chosen a leader who is older than 57.

Given his wealth is he now content to be on the back benches, awaiting his next opportunity? He will not serve in a Truss Cabinet.

He needs Truss to lose the election which will probably be in 2 years. Then he has to become Conservative Leader in Opposition for maybe 5 years. So, at best for him he will be Conservative Leader going into an election in 7 years.

I am not at all sure that this is a prospect that he would welcome. He has more than enough money now and compared to his fortune his wife's fortune makes him a pauper.

On 6th September Sir Graham Brady, Chairman of the 1922 Committee, will receive 54 Letters Of No Confidence in Truss from Sunak supporters.
