Apparently Sunderland have had to let Alex Neil speak with Stoke City as he is not under any contract to them.
Is this the new norm managers are now looking to better their careers? Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Warney still on a rolling contract? If that's the case, then he too could speak to another club if approached.
Also says a lot if Neil has spoken to Stoke about what their ambitions are and what funds are available to spend. It may well mean that there are not the mega bucks anymore at Sunderland and Neil sees this has a way out before any crap hits the fan.

If offered PW would be mad to turn it down.
Sunderland
Then a Prem team
Then Ingerland
Young enough to do it
Understand Sunderland were not paying him anything like the daft mind boggling contract Preston were paying him (£1 million per year !!). The Bet 365 team at Stoke can afford(and are stupid enough) to offer him something similar.
Alegedly paying him ! Don't rate him. Something of a football mercenary.
Great day for the new season of Sunderland til I die to start filming.
Sean Dyche ideal manager for Sunderland, but have Sunderland got the money to back him,
after it was revealed the supposedly new owner of Sunderland admitted he didn't have full
control of the club, he didn't have the money.
