    Jim Bentley

    Appointed as Rochdale new manager.

Uninspiring choice to be honest and hope I am proved wrong…

I think that it's a good appointment. He was at Morecambe as a player from 2002 to 2011 and manager from 2011 until he resigned in 2019. A couple of seasons ago a miracle happened at Morecambe done by Adams. But long before that Morecambe should have been relegated to the National League and that would have occurred but for very good work by Bentley. It is inevitable that Morecambe will drop to League Two and be brittle there. It's just not a football town and is too near to plenty of Lancashire clubs who have had good support for numerous generations. Bentley is 46 years old, so young enough and old enough.

Now, for Saturday I predict :-
    Carlisle United 1 - 2 Rochdale

He was sacked with the team in 4th place. I would accept 4th place now for Carlisle United because I believe that we will finish 14th.
