Detective Columbo - Johnny Cash Episode.

Been watching a few old Columbu episodes this afternoon and I'm now watching the episode with Johnny Cash as the murderer.

Peter Falk was masterful as Columbo but it's a joy hearing Johnny Cash sing, not my favourite genre of music but boy could Johnny sing, absolute quality.

When you have seen The Swan Song as often as I have then 'I Saw the Light' just sticks in your brain for weeks at a time. So I have sort have avoided this episode when I know its coming on. Mind ya his rendition of 'Sunday Morning come down' was one of the better scenes in this episode. Accompanying this great song was the bust up, loads of boozing, plenty of hot women with squirrel chilli and all this directly after the funeral.

But two of the best episodes were on show today. One of the great baddies in Jack Cassidy (he who burnt himself to death) and Dick Van Dyke who incriminated himself by picking out the correct camera. I never tire of watching these 2 episodes in particular.

I’m sure you know Jack Cassidy was pop star David Cassidy’s dad and a terrible one at that by all accounts.

Passed on his alcohol and drug addiction genes to David and he also had Bi-Polar disorder.

Hard to believe Jack was only 49 when he died, he looked 20 years older.

    A great baddie though.

Yes Mick, Jack Cassidy always looked older and many thought him a womaniser especially marrying Shirley Jones she of the Partridge Family. but in fact he liked having blokes up the Harris far more, which came as a bit of a shock too many. Here is a morbid site of the apartment where Cassidy burnt himself to death.

Given how he played the role of bad guy with a lap dog in Clint's "The Eiger Sanction" I don't think his ***ual preferences should have been too much of a surprise!😀 (used to like the Partridge Family as a kid -or it might just have been Susan Dey&#128527
