That's a very good looking example for 20 years old. Mrs CT has an Audi A3 convertible and they are really well engineered cars. I get to drive it occasionally...

Shortly after I met my other half she wanted a Vauxhall Tigra. I found her one, a 99 reg three year old 9000 miles mint Tigra, and I bought it for her. It is now no more.
Now, both being more sensible, she drives an Astra and I drive an Insignia, which I am not a fan of. So I thought that I would buy a frippery. 20 Years old Audi TT reg top. 79000 miles, FSH, recent cambelt change, mint beige leather interior. I worked in the motor trsde for many years, had a good chat with the selling dealer, and in return he gave me the 50 miles delivery charge for free.
I dropped it on her lap last friday..It was raining so I suggested that I drive it first, I had no chance. A quick burn down a few leafy country roads in Es*** and a few junctions around the M25.
It was intended for a bit of fun in spring/summer next year, but she's been to work in it every day over the Dartford bridge. She tells me that everyone came out of work on the first day to look at it. It's a classic that went from concept to production within three years. Always fancied one, but I've lost it to my other half. Glum smiley

Mine's an Audi Q3 quattro, an excellent car
Last 4 cars have been audi
Nice one.
To be fair though. You could fit 4 wheels on a skip and it would handle and drive better than a Vauxhall.
Great cars the TT,especially the V6 Quattro,I had a Bee Em 330ci convertible a couple of years ago,but had to sell as I struggle to drive a manual, got meself a 27 year old Jaaaaag.....nice !
Geets, lovely car. Looks like you’ll not get to drive it again! My most favourite car I’ve ever owned was a Lexus is200 sport. I once put a photo of it on here but can’t find the pick now.
2000 plate and picked it up in 2002 with 11000 on the clock. Loved it, cherished it and it was a fantastic car to drive. 2 litre straight V6 but, with no turbo. It could hit max speed, governed at 135mph no problem. Only did that once though on the then brand new M6 toll road.
Kept it more than 8 years and took it up to 78k on the clock. Paid almost £750 for a full service, timing belt etc and I wasn’t bothered about the bill such was my admiration for such a beautiful car.
Two weeks later some b*****d rear ended me. Insurance wanted to write it off due to the year but I insisted the assessor came out to look at it. They duly attended, saw the beautiful condition of the car and authorised it’s repair of almost 2k.
Got the car back but it never felt the same. I could here this noise, that knock, that squeak so, with a very heavy heart I traded it in for a BMW325i tourer, a beast of a car.
Anyone else ever felt as much attachment to their car?
Had one in 1977 ish an audi 100 ls, a circa 72/73 model
Comfy car but 100bhp.
If I'm not mistake it had daft inboard brakes. Good car though
Looks cool Geetarman![]()
Nice car. Funnily enough I've been looking at Audis recently.
Brin mentioned attachment to cars, our daughter is thinking of trading her Tiguan in but with a heavy heart. When she moved to California at 22 years old she decided to take it with her and make it a road trip. She drove north from Florida to New York then west to Oregon, then south to California. The states she went through were (northbound)Florida, Georgia, both Carolinas, Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, (then westbound) New York again, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, Oklahoma,Iowa ,Nebraska, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, Oregon then southbound to California. She did some of it with a friend but much of it alone including some very desolate ares in the mid west. The whole drive was close to 5000 miles and took over a week.
It's safe to say that I was relieved when she got there.
She got stuck in the Utah desert and had to be towed and then the sand caused her brakes to seize, plus some other quite hairy moments that she told me about long afterwards, but otherwise it went well. The VW was flawless so she will be sad to part with it, but oh well.

My brothers grandson gave me a ride in his £54,000 Tesla. I've never known a standing start like it. It pinned you into your seat, scary.
To cap it off the car drove itself back to the pub........that is fecking scary...............is it the way forwards?
