    Too many mistakes

We are making far too many silly mistakes.Just when you get your nose in front against a team which are notoriously difficult to score against the last thing you want is to give a silly goal away.
That was another 2 points thrown away in a Lancashire derby.By far the worst performance of the season. No urgency in our passing even in the final minutes.Nobody seems to be able to put there foot through the ball when they shoot.Very depressing.
On the good side the German centre half looks good. For me Taylor,Roberts and Rodriguez are the weak links.

Disappointed, but wouldn't say it was a mistake, just an unlucky slip by Muric.

Just wait until he takes Taylor, Roberts and Rodrigues out of the team ----the losses will pile up like they have gone out of fashion.
How did we score tonight? A cross from a corner. How many good crosses did we put in after that? You could count them on one finger!
Too slow in the build up, too many square or backward passes and we are far too lightweight which, in the Championship, will see teams dishing out the treatment as Preston did tonight. No easy answer but a mid-table finish would be decent this season.

Agreed Ashy, too much square and backwards passes from good positions, get the ball going forward and into the box or it's mid table finish.

Most of that correct sub , but as we used to teams are just sat in now they don’t have possession and are waiting for a break away all the time - it’s frustrating to play against that as your always probing for the opening, I agree with Rodriguez and I think he’ll score goals problem is he come s a bit deeper to link up play ( he’s good at that ) and then can’t get in and around the ball when it’s delivered.

We are still too small and lightweight for this league though , VK needs to find a way of us getting shots away at goal though as if we’re going to have 70% possession it’s pointless unless you have an end product , if you don’t shoot / work the keeper you don’t score - simples.

Nowt to worry about. Vinni said it would take a good three months to drill it into the players. We're still a work in progress.

I agree sinkov. It takes time. 16 new players to assimilate and hone. My only worry is that VK referred to “fine margins”. Where have I heard that before?

Looking at the statistics for the last two seasons when we gained promotion, we are not really that far off at this stage.
    2013/14 P9 W6 D2 L1 F17 A6 Pts 20 2nd in league
    2015/16 P9 W4 D3 L2 F12 A10 Pts 15 6th in league
    2022/23 P9 W3 D5 L1 F15 A9 Pts 14 5th in league but could be lower after today's fixtures.

Obviously, the biggest difference is in the possession stats:-
13/14 we had had 50% and had 104 attempts with 43 on target and scored 17 goals
15/16 we had had 48% and had 106 attempts with 42 on target and scored 12 goals
22/23 we have had 66% with 120 attemps with 45 on target and have scored 15 goals

We need to see an improvement in our shot conversion because it has been a problem that, apart from at Wigan, we have not seen our superiority result in goals.
At Wigan we had 55% possession, which is our second lowest, and had just 8 shots with just 6 on target nut scored 5 goals!
