Cutting 45% Tax Not My Idea - Truss!

Useless incompetent b itch! The Chancellor attends a champagne party but really should be doing stand up on a stage!! Shocking that those who earn over 150K including Truss are all laughing!

Ms Truss says she "can't exactly set out" what is going to be in the chancellor's medium-term financial plan in November.
The PM also revealed the chancellor's decision to scrap the top rate of income tax was his alone and was not agreed by the wider cabinet.
Asked if the move was discussed with the cabinet, Ms Truss said: "No, no we didn't. It was a decision the chancellor made."

The current PM , chancellor plus Raab and Patel co wrote a book a decade ago called Britannia Unchained .

It set out exactly what they would do if they had the power .

Cut taxes for the wealthy , deregulate the banks and other sectors , burn workers rights and make trade unions almost non existent .

So far they are sticking to the script .

However these complete fruit cake free marketeers aren't that bright .

Their policies are going to and are killing the middle class as well as the low paid .

In other words they are trashing 90% of the electorate which means total annihilation at the next GE .

They don't have the brains to have worked out that you don't win elections on 10% of the vote .

For Liz Not Be Trussted to throw Kwarteng under the bus like this is a disgrace.

I’ve made a couple of poor business decisions this year but I’ve not hidden from them, I’ve admitted to all and sundry that I’m responsible.

It’s bad enough if you ruin your own tenure in government in the way Boris did but this is a whole lot worse........she has actually consigned the Tory Party to rubble with her lack of nous and crass stupidity.

Make no mistake, this is a historical stain that will be impossible to wash off, they are now as tainted as Labour have been since the mid to late 70’s.

It will be almost impossible for Labour to not win the next two General Elections in my opinion.

Boris’s selfish disregard for the truth and Truss’s naivety have consigned the party to at least 10 to 15 years in the wilderness.

Next she will be denying that she never made those comments about wanting to remove the cap on bankers bonuses!

As animal has said, despite this denial, she has not really changed her views since her contribution to "Britain Unchained" though and, to be fair, she has mostly followed through on the promises made through-out her leadership campaign. Sunak's criticisms of her policies have so far turned out correct-just a pity his perceived "back-stabbing" of BJ and the whole "nom-dom" thing meant that the party would never vote him as leader. Don't like Sunak either but always felt he had a better grasp of economics and -rather strangely-also had more of a social conscience.

As others have said, the Tories have shot themselves in the foot now and cannot see how they will have a chance come the next election. Just hope Starmer imroves and can sort his party out!

I've just emailed my MP Mark Garnier and told him what an embarrassment his party have become and that at this point he's lost a voter.

I've never written this sort of email to my MP before.

It'll be interesting to see if I get a response, I very much doubt it.

Don’t give up though Mick. I had a reply to an email last year from my MP and as I have said on the Levelling Up thread I sent one on 30th September about the Mini budget.

Nothing back yet but I will chase him if I don’t get a reply within the week, that despite me telling him he has lost me as a voter.

Although I did not vote for him, have done the same with my own MP. To be fair he has always had a reputation for responding to constituents. The point is that the more people who put across their concerns the more likely it is that the party might be forced to listen to public opinion and change tack. Certainly don't think that writing to your MP is a waste of time and, after all, they are supposed to represent you.
