    Russia

Brilliant documentary series on BBC iplayer, 'Russia 1985-1999: TraumaZone'. It illustrates vividly the plight of the poor buggers living in a socialist society. All those Lefties who seem to spend their every waking hour hour whingeing and whining about Tories, should be compelled to watch this in it's entirety, after which they would whinge and whine about Tories no more.

No intention of watching hardly owt that comes out of the BBC with their Delusional Broadcast Disorder, I've visited Moscow twice, it's cold, it's grim, it's bloody awful. The proletariat can't afford to eat, petrol was ridiculously expensive, no GP visits, huge hospital queues, kids suffering real poverty, low wages, zero-hour contracts, it reminds me a lot of how the UK is in 2022.

Oddly enough, about 95% of the country's money is controlled and held by a corrupt elite, it's almost an exact mirror of Londongrad. No wonder the oligarchs and the Tory party are in bed together. Sanctions my arse.

Best you avoid it mon ami, it's simply footage shot in the Soviet Union during that period, no commentary, just clips of the pathetic, desperate lives those people led under socialism, the only voices are the ordinary people in the film, miners complaining about the dangerous conditions in their mines and the corruption of Communist Party officials who don't give a FF about it, and not a capitalist pit owner or Tory scum in sight, but you don't need to watch it, just click on the link I've provided and read what your Lefty bible has to say about it. Truth is Sacred at the Grauniad, so you can believe that can't you ?

But seriously mon ami, if you think London is like the USSR was back then, really, really don't watch it, just stick to whining and whinging about Tories.

I don't know which planet you live on mon ami, but trust me on this Russia and Socialism are not in congruence.

This is the problem for you Lefties mon ami isn't it. You can live in your Lefty, virtue signalling bubbles and pretend the real world doesn't exist, but it did and it does, and in that documentary you see the effect Socialism, red in tooth and claw, has on the poor buggers who had to live under that system. It wasn't an experiment, it wasn't theoretical, it was Socialism in practice, but ffs sake mon ami, don't you watch it.

Incidentally, the period depicted coincides with Thatcher's Britain, if anyone living here at the time under Thatcher says they'd have preferred the lot of the Soviet citizens of that time, I can only suggest Section 11 of the Mental Health Act 1983 is too good for them.

Communism is more akin to facism than socialism, the extreme right and extreme left are not viable ideologies.

We visited St Petersburg on a cruise 4 years ago. Beautiful city with lots to keep you occupied for sure.We went in this department store restaurant / cafe and were served by two students. We asked them through an interpreter if they had ever visited the UK. They told us that they applied to come over here, but the Russian government refused them permission to leave their own country and told them that they had to stay where they were. How sad is that ? Unbelievable is not the word. Any one of us can go down our local airport, and literally be on our way to anywhere in the world ,in no time at all. Travelling is the best form of education, but not if you’re Russian, living over there.

Oppression, repression and denial of basic human rights is not socialism. We tried our best to do business with the Russians, but it was akin to trying to tell my old mate sinkov that capitalism only works if everybody gets a decent slice of the cake.

I'm not at all certain what Putin's political ideology is, but whatever it is, it's not working.

77% approval ratings even after partial mobilization means his political ideology is working much better than any of the Western governments. Also the Russian economy is recovering as even the Economist admitted this week.Sanctions, what sanctions?

I'm not at all certain 77% of the Russian electorate support Putin CiB, especially those mothers who are losing their sons fighting an unjust cause in Ukraine.
