    Man of the match

What would be your criteria if you were picking.
Sponsors usually pick a goal scorer, whoever they want a signed picture of or the grinder lad.
Barlaser did play well yesterday. But he usually does so does that constitute MOTM?
Wood, Harding and Viktor had good games as did my choice Washington.
But Is it enough to play well or score? Should it be picked on who has gone that bit extra, worked harder or improved the most?

I suppose there is no right answer but what would you base you choice on?

Being in the right place, at the right time Scum, like Washington off Barlaser, Kelly off Wood.
I like the bulldog, Rathbone, he gets stuck in, while Barlaser is the provider, with his reading of the game, Wiles sometimes runs about like a headless chicken, but can man mark players, tapping at their ankles.

I reckon Grant Hall had a really good game yesterday although Barlaser was influential in midfield. Washington got through a lot of work and was rewarded with a quality goal assisted by DB.
In answer to your question, it comes down to overall performance in the whole game not just down to goalscoring. A player who influenced or changed the game consistently.

Our keeper changed the game by keeping us in it, as he did in the two previous home games, but he's unlikely to get MOTM

A few good performances yesterday, thought Rathbone was very good 2nd half.

A lucky boy, that foul on the keeper could have been interpreted as a straight red by some refs

Since Taylor has been here Wes Harding has been the stand out player for me. He’s more suited to the Championship than league one !

The yellow card I thought calmed him down and forced him back to a more controlled game.

Yes, but it left him in a position where one mistimed tackle would mean we played with 10 men

There was no way he was going to win the ball as it ran through to their keeper, a totally stupid thing to do

He did run a long way to get that booking but had he pinched the ball as the keeper dithered it would have been a different story. Without his 'ratting' attitude we wouldn't have scored our first goal. As for fouls, the one by Holmes on Rathbone just before our 2nd goal could equally have been a red card if VAR was involved.
