OT. Are ‘Mad Vlad’ and ‘General Armageddon’ winning?

Seems to me that the fighting on the Russian/Ukrainian border is becoming something of a ‘side show’ despite the heroic efforts of Ukrainian forces.
The Russians have now used Iranian drones to knock out an estimated one third of Ukrainian power stations. We in the UK are already threatened with possible power cuts next winter as a result of Russia’s actions and presumably the rest of Western Europe/EU is facing a similar plight.
So have we fallen into the complacency trap and are we - the West - seemingly as ever in recent times, guilty of ‘kicking the can’ ever further down the road?
Is compromising Europe’s, as well as destroying Ukraine’s, ability to provide heat and light during the forthcoming winter now Putin’s main weapon and if so...does this mean Russia is outthinking and outmanoeuvring the West? Thoughts?

General Winter has always been influential there since the 1810's

The West is and has been kicking the can down the road for years.

The EU was warned by Trump, to not trust Putin and put reliance on him for energy.
He's been playing the west for years, by weakening it with everything from porous borders, to running down self reliance on energy by offering an easy carrott.

Had Corbyn got in, then the Nuclear deterrent would no doubt have been kicked into touch, leaving France representing Europe on the nuclear shield front, with the US.
Oh how weak we have become, listening to all the stories of human kindness for everyone.

Only you could try and make this about borders and Corbyn, and I think you might need to look a little more closely at Trump’s relationship with Putin.

Apart from that...it was a serious question. Winter is coming...sod’s law suggests it’ll be a cold one...but, the question is, while we’ve employed a variety of economic and ‘cultural’ sanctions against Russia have we actually been outwitted and what can we do?

Its extremely relevent, just inconvenient to you.

1.Yes we have been outwitted(ALL EUROPE). Now backed into a corner of stupidity, allowing the green revolution to dictate everything and use Putin as a non green top up, to manipulate carbon figures. Just because we don't mine/bore it, doesn't mean we aren't responsible.

    2. Putin has used the borders to flood Europe with migration, adding to the burdon and resource usage. Using Belarus as a filter and now the Ukraine.

What can we do? Anything we have to, both short term and long term. If we have to import gas /coal, we should do it, now!
Long term, needs a massive energy review for the next 50 years.
No more bull**** satisfying campaigners only. It has to be fair and realistic.
    ALL EUROPE.

None of which has anything to do with Corbyn or Trump one can’t help but notice, and most of which is just a predictable anti-Green, anti migrant rant.
