    Tactics

Same old tactics game in game out, bit of tippy tappy backwards and sideways passing the run down the wing as quick as possible, cross it into the area where if lucky we have a 5ft 9 ins novice up against two centre backs of over 6ft, combine that with we can’t defend
Absolute dross, we are so easy to play against, Reading was a one off, a bit of energy shown by the players, that obviously tired the poor souls out for last night, only Palmer saved us Sat from another loss
Who in their right mind would want to manage this lot of spineless cowards?
Tony start rinsing the cap and whitening the trainers, crucifies me to say but you are needed

We have no one adept at the 'Dark Arts' of the game. No one who can set the tone by example, and no one who will berate team mates who don't step up to the mark. In other words, no enforcer. Today they are call DMs. I prefer Thug, with skill.

I immediately thought of Charlie Adam and Mark Noble when the ‘Thug with skill’ phrase mentioned. (Albeit the skill part may be questionable!)

I was thinking more Jonas, Yacob, McInnes, Robertson, Wile, Giles, Robson. Players we have known and loved

This is a fair assessment Bomber. We play ineffective and illogical football. We launch it / put crosses in to a 5ft 9 striker. When we had Carroll in the side last season we barely put a cross in. We play it across the back 4, without any real idea of where we are going. When we do get into a dangerous position, our final ball is beyond awful.

There is no real idea or identity in how we play or how we set up our side. Whoever comes in needs to find a way for us to be a more effective side. If that means getting a big striker in, launching the ball to him and getting bodies around him then at least we know as fans what we are trying to achieve. Right now I haven’t got a clue.

Make no mistake, we are in a relegation battle this season.

Hopefully Dike, once he returns, will stay fit as he has the physical attributes to play the role of "Big" striker. We have two proven creative midfielders at the club in Swift and Rogic. We need at least one of them in the team. I also would play Okay in front of a back four.
