Anyone out there to keep us from a relegation battle

With world cup coming up a perfect time to get rid of Ted and allow an incoming coach some adjustment time.

With villa looking we'll have more competition for any coach out there. Anyone that stands out? Think this is a solid squad with some potential and a prem team. Really don't think it's a relegation squad. Should be tempting to someone.

Not sure out board will acknowlege the mistake so we may wait until we are relegated to pull the trigger. However, losing 2-0 to a woeful team at the bottom of the table and without their best player should really spur them on

Look at Bournemouth, Brentford and Fulham - if you have sound consistent game plans which suit the squad you can survive in this league.

Whilst we all think the squad can be improved it isn’t a bad squad.

There are pieces of the jigsaw that don’t neatly fit - Llorente is a Spanish international and can play but doesn’t fit into the current style as the players around him in the back four and midfield two and not good enough tippy tappy possession players. Roca is a good player but was getting balls in positions that don’t suit his skills and playing style which led to him getting into trouble yesterday.

Similarly, Rodrigo is a good player with a good heritage but doesn’t really fit into how we play and we don’t have enough quality around him to carry him in this league.

They were both players signed to upgrade the squad in our first premier season and they both did that. They need the right type of players around them though and three years in teams know how to counter them and what their weaknesses are.

Outside of that we have an okay squad that can play together but this is another transition season where we start upgrading the squad and need to do so again next year (by which time a lot of the u21 may be ready to properly step up).

Defensively we are tighter than last year but the compressing the pitch so narrowly makes us vulnerable to teams who look to exploit that which Leicester did last night down our left and for their second goal where Barnes had so much time he could have stopped for a water break before scoring.

Left back aside but Struijk and Hjelde can cover that we have round pegs for round holes for once.

Someone could surely get a tune out of

    Meslier
    Ayling Koch Cooper Struijk

    Roca Adams

    Sinisterra Aaronson Harrison

    Bamford

With subs used as proper impact players in the second half. The team should be built around getting the best out of Koch, Adams, Aaronson and Sinisterra whip should all provide a pretty decent spine.

A lot of our football on bad days looks like disjointed kick and rush which is easy to counter.

Poch for me as new manager but that means JM has to go today.

I don’t think JM is going anywhere before Sunday and probably not until after the World Cup which might be a very costly mistake.

Maybe, except for Cooper, Barndoor and, on current his form, Harrison. Not so much a tune as a cacophony.

Sean Dyche would keep you up.Might not be attractive football, but he's good at keeping small unfashionable teams up.
