West Brom CEO Ron Gourlay has revealed that he’s confident club owner Guochuan Lai’s £4.95 million loan will be paid back in time for the January transfer window.
£4.9 million. Wow! I hope he doesn't think that this will buy some class players because you need £50 million to buy one decent player who can make a big difference!

He owes us more than that doesn't he? I thought he'd had two loans, neither of which have been paid back!
Is it really?
Ask God Megson or Luton if £4.9m is nothing and the rest of the championship who aren't getting parachute payments.
The former spent a lot less 20 years ago to get us up and the latter got into the PO last season on small gates and spending next to nothing, as did Huddersfield (let's all hope Carlos can do that again).
I could completely understand this constant diatribe about we have no money from someone who puts some money into the club themselves, but it is a bit of a pis s take imo to watch everything on a fuzzy feed and then moan that we have no money.
So many people talk about big clubs in terms of fan base and past history or success. This really means jack s hit as it does not add value to the asset or the limited company. For example Bournemouth with an 11,000 capacity is a far bigger club than West Brom as it's worth far more. With Sky money is priority as supporters unless you are a top brand ie Man Utd are irrelevant.
To think the bald one sold West Brom for 180 million FFS! I bet it's not even worth 70 million now with championship status - parachute money almost gone and zero players which would command anything over 5 million!
I hate the bald one but he was one shrewd cookie!
