are they going ted lasso full time?

Marsch has confirmed the club has added a psychologist to the coaching staff at Thorp Arch for the benefit of the backroom team as well as the players themselves. It’s a role Marsch has never had as a partner before, but he hopes it will unlock insecurities and reinforce confidence.

What part of the show are they going to copy next

An awful lot being made of that but sports psychologists have been a think in football to some degree since the 1990s.

Jack Harrison has been using one for 3 or 4 seasons.

Suspect there is a degree of media blaaargh to it

Given the money at stake certainly makes sense to explore every option.

However, I've generally found competition for play time is the most effective remedy for poor form. If you know you have to earn your play time every week you tend to come prepared to play.

This is an area where game performance has to mean as much as training. The sad fact is that some players can't handle the stress or intensity of a game versus training. I think Ted puts too much emphasis on payscale, seniority and training and not enough on game day performance. we have some depth on almost every position.

PS- being subbed in at 80+ minutes does not count as "game time".

Decent BBC Sounds Podcast on how great Managers achieved their success with Strachan explaining to Chris Kamara how Ferguson & Wilkinson achieved their success, often getting results by strange methods.
Also how the signing of 'strong personalities' are required within any successful team framework.

Hilarious at times & an insight of how Strachan's time at Leeds was spent.

Worked well for Harrison ain't it, guy is constantly brimming with confidence and isn't any bit of the turns up for 3/4 games and does nothing for 10/11 games kind of player................oh wait, he's exactly the same!

Not saying it works but maybe it does and imagine how he might play without it.
Golf is probably the sport that uses it most in the pro game but most professional sports use elements of psychology to some degree

The likeness of the show to real is so unbelievable I think I'm watching the show again.
